Top upcoming smartphones in September 2019
Now, there were a few new smartphones announced at IFA 2019 from some of the biggest companies like Nokia, Samsung, Sony and Motorola, and also returning with foldable face.
Held annually in Berlin, IFA is Europe's largest consumer tech conference, showcasing the upcoming launches from some of the world's biggest electronics brands. We're deep in the updates, and bringing you all the information as it was revealed.

LG G8X ThinQ |
LG has announced its next high-end smartphone the LG G8X ThinQ with dual screen mode. This is the latest attempt from the South Korean company to take advantage of multi-tasking tendencies. The attachable Dual Screen case is thinner and lighter. And it also has another smaller screen on the front face with 2.1-inch dot matrix display to see the time, date, notification icons and caller ID when it's closed.
LG has greatly reduced the size of the notch at the top of the display, and generally providing a more pleasing aesthetic. A 6.4-inch OLED display dominates the front with a tall 19.5:9 aspect ratio, a Full HD+ resolution. It looks and feels premium, and it sits relatively well in the hand.
There are a variety of use cases for this dual-screen setup. For gaming, as any app on the Play Store which currently supports gamepad input can take advantage of the on-screen
LG Gamepad. It also has perfectly balanced stereo speakers at top and bottom. And this handset still comes with a headphone jack that allows you to plug in a traditional set of headphones.
The LG Dual Screen covers considerable size and weight with 134g and 14.9mm of thickness to the G8X ThinQ.
The G8X ThinQ is offering dual camera setup. The main 12MP sensor comes with an ultra-wide 13MP snapper. Selfie lovers should also be happy, because this device comes with a 32MP front-facing camera that able to produce Instagram-worthy snaps.

Huawei Mate X |
Huawei has published its highly anticipated new first folding smartphone with a flexible screen '
Mate X'. The smartphone was initially set to launch in June this year but the sale was delayed to ensure its durable design. Now it is almost ready to produce a version of the phone powered by the newly announced Kirin 990 processor.
Huawei Mate X, with unfolded, measures 8 inches while Samsung Galaxy Fold's display is 7.3 inch. With folded, the displays are 6.6 inches and 4.6 inches, respectively. The device is powered by a 1.8 GHz octa-core
Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor that features two cores clocked at 2.6 GHz, two cores clocked at 1.92 GHz and four cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. It comes with 8 GB RAM.

Motorola One Zoom |
The
Motorola One Zoom might be right up your alley - as Motorola has been releasing some excellent budget smartphones over the last few years. Now for a phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 and just 4GB of RAM. The phone has a clear amount of heft to it, along with a glass back. There's the camera, with four lenses: one for high-res optical zoom, an Ultra-wide angle lens, a 5MP depth lens and the main 48MP shooter. The front-facing shooter features a whopping 25MP of image-capturing power. Bezels around the display are much thicker than a lot of devices you'll find these days. It has USB-C for charging and data. This device is equipped with a
Snapdragon 675. We just wish that
Motorola made the top bezel a little bigger to fit the shooter without affecting the way the screen looks.

The
Nokia 7.2 is a solid step up from the
Nokia. The Nokia 7 phone series is one of
HMD Global’s mid-range entries, and the Nokia 7.2 is the third generation device after the Nokia 7. This device is definitely its own phone, and surely not a carbon copy of its predecessor. It’s a fairly large device. On the right there's a power button and volume rocker, which are standard for a smartphone. On the left there’s a Google Assistant button, which is a useful tool for summoning the AI tool. There’s a USB-C port, and also a 3.5mm headphone jack for if you still use wired headphones. The rear of the phone is made of aluminum, with a polymer finish, and the device feels pretty solid. On this device, there’s a ‘tear-drop’ notch housing the front facing camera, a thin top bezel, and a fair-sized bottom chin. The Nokia 7.2 has 48MP camera, which leaves the 12MP snapper of the Nokia 7.1 in the dust. It’s actually the most powerful camera that
HMD Global has used in a smartphone, and the triple-lens system (joined by a 5MP depth sensor and third 8MP camera with ultra-wide angle lens) employed in the 7.2 shows the first time the company has used. There's a front-facing 20MP camera to got a little overzealous in creating background blur. The handset supporting up to 4K UHD video recording. One notable exception was the live video editing suite, that lets you edit the background blur for portrait shots.The Nokia 7.2 runs on Android One, an operating system based on Google’s Android 9 Pie. The processor is a
Snapdragon 660. Overall quality was fine.

Samsung has come out with Samsung Galaxy A90 5G. This is the latest of Samsung's 5G smartphones with affordable features. The dimensions of the handset are 164.8 x 76.4 x 8.4mm, so it's a fairly tall handset. The display is relatively large, at 6.7 inches diagonally, with vibrant colors and brightness enough to counteract the glare of the overhead lights. The
Super AMOLED screen is sharp enough. This device has three rear cameras, consisting of a 48MP main camera, 5MP depth sensor, and 8MP snapper with ultra-wide lens. The front-facing camera is 32MP, which is fairly high-res for a camera that you'll use mainly to take selfies. The Galaxy A90 5G is packing a 4,500mAh power cell with 25W fast charging support. The Galaxy A90 5G facilitates both on-screen fingerprint sensing and facial recognition, which is what we'd expect at its price tag.
