Google has now launched its Google Nest Hub the smart display, in India. It's designed to control over 200 million devices from more than 3,500 brands.


The Nest Hub first unveiled in the US back in October last year. And now, the smart display has been officially launched in Indian market. The device is the only smart speaker from Google’s new products that have been launched in India so far and is officially priced at Rs. 9,999.


The Nest Hub is a fully featured smart home device that features a voice assistant as well as the ability to control all the other smart home devices in your house.


The Nest Hub comes with a 7-inch LCD touch screen, a speaker at the bottom, two microphone array, WiFi and Bluetooth support with Chromecast built-in. The display actually looks fantastic, with sharp text and detailed images. It does come with a button at the back to turn off the mic and an Ambient EQ light sensor. It will be available in a Chalk and Charcoal colour options.


The device measures 118x178.5x67.3mm and weighs 480 grams. The base has a fabric covering the entire surface, which hides a single full-range driver underneath. There's also a connector for power.


It understands your voice commands. It also includes various Google services, including Google Search, YouTube, and Google Photos.


With the Google Nest Hub, you can do things like getting weather, traffic and other relevant updates, even Google Maps; and a variety of Google Assistant tasks on the display alongside the verbal feedback. You can also access Google Photos using this 7-inch smart display.


You can swipe up to access basic controls, such as brightness, volume, do not disturb, alarms and settings.


The giant has also provided various Digital Wellbeing features on the Nest Hub. The company has also additionally optimised the YouTube experience specifically for the Nest Hub to offer you video content out-of-the-box.


This device also supports 'Routines' that help perform actions by receiving a single voice command. Like, when you say, "Hey Google, Goodnight" to let the device set an alarm, turn off the connected lights and TV, and play the music that you set.


There's actually only four clock faces with a light theme and the other four are the same with a dark theme.


This device is competing against the Amazon Echo Show 5 that was launched in India back in late May.


Google Nest Hub device will be available for purchase via Flipkart, Tata Cliq, Croma, and Reliance Digital.
