WhatsApp Status feature now getting a mute or hiding option on status updates. This feature also lets you hide muted stories altogether.
In June this year, the selected WhatsApp users in Android beta program were given access to the feature, and now the feature is finally available to the latest stable version of WhatsApp.
WABetaInfo confirmed that "WhatsApp is starting to roll out the possibility to hide muted status updates."
WhatsApp tried to fix it by letting users mute status updates from a certain contact, but they still appeared under a separate section at the scroll. While some might have the habit of completely ignoring the statuses, others find it annoying to see constant updates from their contacts.
But not anymore! WhatsApp has finally fixed it by hiding the Muted Status Updates area by default. Facebook owned company finally realised the importance of hiding muted statuses from people's sight at once.
So that users can avoid seeing them unnecessarily. This update was spotted through WABetainfo on Wednesday, and confirmed its availability as well. The latest feature was spotted in WhatsApp's 2.19.260 beta version for Android.
The ability to Mute is a power on most social media platforms that ensure you can avoid stumbling onto content from people who’re not really part of your close circuit. This can be done by long-pressing a contact and then you’re able to mute Status updates from them showing up.
You can update this through the Google Play Store right away.
